COVID Halloween

Halloween looks different this year. So, what do we do now?

Halloween evokes all sorts of joyful memories of indulgence and fun. The costume brainstorming, building or buying, the anticipation of getting ready, the joy of seeing all of your friends for a night of pure mischief and fun. And candy, let’s not forget the candy. It will undoubtedly look different this year. But we still need to have fun and make it about the kids.

So, how do we do that? To go out, or not to go out? Here is a guide Hershey put together that maps out how to trick-or-treat safely in every county in the US with guidance from the CDC. There are also ideas for how to have fun if trick-or-treating isn’t your thing.

Listen, we know this year is going to be different. It’s up to us to figure out how to make different actually be fun. We can do that. We can have Halloween movie night at home. We can Monster Mash on Zoom. We can host a socially distant fire-pit candy night. We can find ways to have fun.

We can also utilize these strange times to improve our current situation. Halloween has always been about getting people together to have fun for the sake of it. Now it can also be about having fun and making a difference.

There are many ways you can make Halloween count. One of them is to get your organization signed up for ShopRaise. It is an easy way to conduct passive fundraising through our shopping app. With every purchase your donors make for Halloween, a portion of each sale will benefit your organization. Whether you are a charity, team, club, or faith-based organization, you have a way to raise funds without asking your donors to give more.

Halloween won’t look the same this year, but it can still be fun. And, it can help benefit your mission and vision.
